Within the XX Provincial Theater Show, the Menéndez Pidal Theater of El Espinar, hosts the work
"Ay, Carmela", the 14 of October at 20.30 h.
Carmela and Paulino are two actors of the magazine that during the Spanish Civil War are active in republican Spain. Because of an error, the lines cross and are taken prisoner by the Francoists. These order them to represent a show for their troops and that includes a parody against the Republic, to make fun of international brigadistas who are going to be shot. Carmela, outraged, spontaneously subverts this parody despite the desperate attempts of Paulino, and ends up being shot too. Paulino is left alone and has no more consolation than getting drunk and receiving visits from the spirit of Carmela.
