Touroperadores of Singapore and the USA are interested in Fitur for the tourist offer of the province of Segovia

Several thousand people have approached during these days to the promotional space of the Province of Segovia that Prodestur has enabled at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, which closes on Sunday.
Throughout these days, Prodestur will distribute 25.000 informative leaflets, which shows the success of the offer presented by the provincial institution at the Fair.
The County Council has based the tourism offer for this 2019 on elements arising from the Tourism Promotion Plan: The emphasis on the Camino de Santiago and the enhancement of two new products, cycling and astrotourism.
Touroperadoes mainly from Singapore and the US have been interested during these days by the offer of the province of Segovia within the so-called appointment of B2B. Agencies from Italy, Great Britain and China have also shown their interest. In particular, one of the Chinese agencies was very interested in the possible offers directed specifically to groups formed only by women.
Apart from the B2B, the deputy of Prodestur, Magdalena Rodríguez, and the technician Sofía Collazo have held some thirty meetings with travel agencies, reservation centers, companies of new technologies for information management, media, and other professionals of the sector.
The Provincial Council has come to FITUR as part of the promotional space of the Regional Government of Castilla y León, which this year has placed emphasis on the promotion of the Camino de Santiago to which it has already allocated resources to adequately signalize.
They will be installed in total 69 signals, between panels and posts, and 23 milestones. The placement works have already begun, which currently reach half of the total. The budget of the work is 12.576 euros and the posts are located with the observations of the Association of Friends of the Camino de Santiago.
The President of the Provincial Council, Francisco Vázquez, did not want to overlook the opportunity to attend the Fair. Vázquez held various meetings with the representatives of Bikefriendly, the company in charge of the Cycle Tourism Plan of the province, and the Starlight Foundation, with which Prodestur works in the development of astrotourism.
The presentation of the offer of the province was made on Thursday by the deputy of Prodestur Magdalena Rodríguez, and has rested also in the new projects that are currently being developed from Prodestur for the attraction of visitors to the province: the one that is based on the observation of the sky, astrotourism, and bicycle tourism, both very linked to the Camino de Santiago.
The first, because the stars led the first pilgrims to the Cathedral dedicated to the apostle and the second, as the bicycle is one of the possible means of transport used to travel the Camino.
The presentation about the bicycle touring project of the province was made by Raúl Villacampa, president and CEO of Bikefriendly Group and Rebeca López, director of Bikefriendly Consulting. Shortly we will already know the concrete routes to practice bicycle touring through the territory of the province to which some new ones will be added.
It is also committed to training the business sector on bicycle touring and coordination with agents and in another Cycling Tourism Marketing project that works on the development of an online platform with the information of Segovia as a Bikefriendly destination (web "Province of Segovia, Bikefriendly Territory ").
At the time of the presentation of Segovia's offer, the Association of Waiters of Segovia and its province released some details of the VII Regional Congress of Tourism and Gastronomy, organized by this group of professionals.
The Regional Congress includes a wide program of activities in which the Regional Week of Tourism and Gastronomy, the National Contest of Salary Professionals, the Exaltation Party of the Piglet or the National Cocktail Competition stand out.
After the presentation of the province's tourist offer, a tasting of Cárnicas Tabladillo products was carried out, a family company with more than 50 years of experience in the breeding and elaboration of Cochinillo de Segovia, and the recent Food Award of Spain.
The Fair has also been used by Prodestur and the National Union of Travel Agencies to announce the celebration of the XXII National Congress of Travel Agencies, which will take place at the Teatro Juan Bravo next April and which is expected that come 200 professionals in the sector.
The brochures and graphic resources of tourist promotion that have been distributed in the promotional space of the Diputación in FITUR made reference to the tourist localities, museums and experiences. To these have been added the map of the province, which includes all its tourist resources: museums, monuments, interpretation centers, natural parks, national park, Biosphere Reserve, etc.
