Prodestur Segovia, the Department of Tourism of the Provincial Council, has begun today the work of coordination between the directors of golf clubs in the province and tourism entrepreneurs in order to make the Segovian province the preferred destination for players and national and international golf players. For this they want to offer the possibility of designing, individually or in a group, a golf experience, combined with other tourist options, made to measure.
This is an initiative that aims to involve all agents of the Segovian tourist sector: hotels, restaurants, rural houses, activities, golf courses, official guides, travel agencies, museums and monuments, warehouses, complementary services companies, for example, transport companies, to create combined tour packages.
For this purpose, this first meeting has been held at the Casa del Sello, attended by Prodestur Deputy Magdalena Rodríguez, Los Angeles de San Rafael Golf Course Manager, José Manuel Monfort and the director of the La Faisanera Golf Course. , Gonzalo Ruiz, representing the rest of the fields.
In the meeting have been exposed the advantages that could have for the sector both sporting and tourist the creation of these tourist packages around the sport of golf, since the province lodges in its territory a total of 9 fields: Los Angeles de San Rafael , in Vegas de Matute; that of the Golf and Pitch & Putt School in El Espinar; the Sports Club La Valdenarra in Bercial; the Valdemazo Golf Club in Cabezuela; the Villa de Cuéllar Golf Club; the Las Llanás Golf Club in Grajera; the El Espinar Golf Club; the Field of the Shot in the Real Site of San Ildefonso and the Faisanera in Palazuelos de Eresma.
Among the close to 60 attendees who have attended the meeting has emerged a working group that will continue to move forward in actions to reinforce the idea of making the province a golf destination. Prodestur will coordinate these tasks and has offered the possibility of publishing a specific publication to promote it in the different national and international tourism fairs that it attends.
The golf player is cataloged as a type of client that not only arrives at a destination to practice this sport; He also likes to enjoy other experiences: guided tours, gastronomy or tastings and is usually accompanied by another person who requests a leisure offer.
The aim is to provide a global service to golf lovers, making known a different destination in which, apart from being able to carry out their favorite sport, you can discover exceptional landscapes, taste an incredible gastronomy and soak up a surprising culture.
