Riaza seeks the consolidation of the Tourism Weekend organized by the Diputación

For the fourth consecutive year, the Diputación de Segovia, through Prodestur, organizes the Tourism Weekend, which along 5 Saturday and 6 Sunday in October will take hundreds of people willing to enjoy the Northeast region different activities that have been organized from the provincial institution to enhance the knowledge of the area.

Riaza will be the municipality that hosts most of the proposed activities, which include, from various guided routes to the installation of a craft and products fair in the province that will remain open throughout the weekend in the municipal park of El Rasero.

The activity will begin soon in the morning on Saturday, with the departure? At 8: 50 hours from the Bullring and at 9: 00 hours from the Via Roma? of several buses that will transport more than half a thousand people to Riaza, where participants can choose between making a cultural route to discover the colors of Martín Muñoz de Ayllón, Madriguera, Villacorta and El Muyo, a hiking route through the mills, which also includes a visit to the Berry Good company, or a one-hour horse-riding route for which it will be necessary to pay a price of 9 euros per person.

Before sharing a lamb stew, attendees can also participate in a visit to the hermitage of Hontanares and a climb to the Mirador de Piedras Llanas that will take place at 13: 00 hours. In the afternoon, Prodestur proposes three different plans from 17: 00 for three different plans: meet Riaza on a tourist visit, attend an exhibition of jacks and dances or attend an exhibition of dressage and horse jumping. Afterwards, with a master dance class from Huercasa Country Festival and a performance by the Riaza music band, the afternoon will end for those who must return to Segovia on the buses of the Diputación, while for those who prefer to stay in the town will still have time to applaud the theatrical performance of the La Farándula group.

Already on Sunday, and with the same departure time of the buses from Segovia capital, the program of the fourth edition of the Tourism Weekend proposes a hiking route of 5 kilometers through the Hayedo de la Pedrosa, a visit to the station of ski of the Pinilla to know its tracks and its bike park and a wine and cheese tasting of the province at 1.800 meters high.

The Tourism Weekend will be concluded after a great popular paella that will gather a good part of those present in Riaza. However, and with the aim of getting involved in this project, the restaurants and shops of the town will make discounts to those people who opt for other alternatives at lunchtime and show their Prodestur bracelet.

From the Diputación, it is expected that, in addition to half a thousand people who have confirmed their place on buses, there are many more Segovians participating in this initiative, which was born with the aim of showing the inhabitants of the province the great tourist offer of the one they have, without having to make large displacements or economic investments. Without leaving Segovia's geography, the variants in the field of gastronomic, sports, nature, heritage or experience tourism are multiple, as has been demonstrated in the previous editions of the Tourism Weekend, which have been celebrated years in the Segovian countryside, in Tierra de Pinares and in the Sierra in the Pedraza area.
