Prodestur relies on Saudi airlines and travel agencies to promote the province in the West Asian market

After the visits to the province in the last month of different tour operators from East Asia - mainly Chinese, who have been guided and advised by those responsible for Prodestur, the Tourism Agency of the Diputación has changed its look this week towards West Asia, receiving a representation of the best known travel agencies in Jeddah, the second most important city in Saudi Arabia.

Supported by the airline Etihad Airways, which has also sent a representative to this familiarization trip, and by the Spanish Tourism Office in Abu Dhabi, Prodestur wanted to transfer to these sales managers the reasons why it is necessary to consider including Segovia as a preferred destination in its tour packages. The Saudi airline has recently opened a route from Jeddah, which is seen as an opportunity to generate attraction for a destination in which Madrid and Segovia, given its proximity, go practically hand in hand.

For this reason visitors have dedicated a day of their trip of just four days to know Segovia. Here, and accompanied by the deputy of Prodestur, Magdalena Rodríguez, they have been able to check the beauty of the gardens of the Palace of the Royal Site of San Ildefonso and admire the works of the Royal Crystal Factory, dedicating the afternoon, briefly, to know The capital of the province.

For the head of the Tourism agency of the Diputación, "market opening trips organized with airlines are very important when promoting a destination, since, among other reasons, it is guaranteed that the airline will carry out a remarkable promotion, with the aim of making the new route work ". This strategy works for years with the Chinese market, and now it is in countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia or India, where the Provincial will try to achieve similar success.
