In recent years, jazz has been installed as a vital constant in the bowels of the Juan Bravo Theater programming and that made it inevitable that sooner or later the name of Ximo Tébar would be inscribed on our signage. With about twenty albums, prizes and great reviews hanging on the notes of his dishes, the Valencian musician continues to leave jazz with sea flavor wherever he goes.
He was only 17 years old when he was already considered one of the Spanish jazz guitarists with more future and the passage of time has been confirming that omen; From the Mediterranean to the shores of New York, Buenos Aires, Istanbul or Athens and from the heat of Cuba to the cold of Russia, Ximo Tebar has lent the warm air of his Mediterranean son to artists such as Joey DeFrancesco, Lonnie Smitt or Idris Muhammad , receiving the applause of lovers of a genre that also owes workshops, conferences and even record productions under the creation of its label, Omix Records.
A little over a year ago, Ximo Tébar published Con alma & United, the title that now revolves with him and that is based on peculiar and progressive recreations of Shorter, Gillespie, Ellington, Desmond, Mingus and Monk standards, and in which Jorge Pardo and Arturo O'Farrill have collaborated.
