On the International Day of the Elderly, celebrated next Tuesday 1 in October, Accem will convert San Martín de Segovia into the Plaza against Soledad.
The square will be filled with stories of older and active women who claim their role in society and stand up to isolation. They are some of the winning stories of the story contest called by Accem.
In the Plaza against Soledad you can also see the illustrations of women made by urban artist Yoseba MP.
Unwanted loneliness is a growing problem in our society and especially affects older women, who have a longer life expectancy.
Despite being one of the groups most affected by social and gender inequality, older women show a willingness to improve themselves to achieve active aging. This is reflected in the stories written by themselves.
In addition to Segovia, Accem will "open" other places against loneliness in Zaragoza, Vitoria, Guadalajara and Madrid.
