The City Council of Segovia and SeoBirdlife celebrate Bird Day one more year.
Talks, an ornithological route through the Tejadilla Valley and a children's workshop make up the program that will be extended from 3 to October 6.
The goal, insist on the ornithological richness of Segovia, its value and environmental importance.
The City Council, through the Department of Environment, in collaboration with the Spanish Ornithological Society (SEOBirdlife Segovia) organize, once again, activities for all audiences on the occasion of 2019 Bird Day, a new opportunity to remember and show the population the ornithological wealth of Segovia and to transfer the importance of their knowledge and protection.
This year, three conferences will be held. The opening day, Thursday 3 of October, the naturalist Carlos de Hita will offer the titled “With the ear of an owl. A sound tour of birdsong ”.
The next day, the architect Miguel Ángel García Grande will talk about the conservation and promotion of urban biodiversity in rehabilitation and reform works.
The cycle will be closed by the ornithological guide Xavier Martín, the October 5, with his lecture "eBird, citizen science and conservation".
The three, with free admission, will be taught at the Reading House, Municipal Library and begin at 19: 00 hours.
On the same Saturday, the little ones will have the opportunity to participate in the children's workshop “Our neighbors the birds”. It will start at 18: 00 hours in the Reading House, Municipal Library.
Finally, the City Council and SEO Birdlife invite Segovians of all ages to join the 6 Sunday of October on the ornithological route through the Tejadilla Valley. The tour will start at the old station of Renfe (Villacastín road) at 9: 00 hours.
Cordial Green Symphony
The theatrical visit to the Clamores valley returns. On Saturday 5 of October at 12: 00 hours, next to the source of the Prairie of the Star will begin the walk that will end at the mouth of the valley.
The last of the dramatizations of the Cordial Green Symphony season will take place in the valley of the Eresma on October 19. At 12: 00 hours in the Alaral del Parral (pole of the side of the Monastery of Parral) will begin this walk that will end in the ruins of the convent of Santa Ana.
In these routes, of 1 hour and 30 minutes, approximately, of duration, the family audience with children under ten years of age and interested in general can participate. It is recommended that you wear comfortable shoes, a cap and water.
