This weekend the Association "Correa de Arauxo" of Friends of the Organ of Segovia continues with its XXIII Cycle of Concerts "Correa de Arauxo", with the next two activities scheduled in the calendar. On the one hand, the organero master Joaquín Lois will tell us about the restoration work that his workshop is carrying out in the Gospel organ of the SI Cathedral of Segovia, in a talk illustrated with audiovisual material and an informative update on the current state of works. It will be Friday, October 18, in the House of Spirituality of Segovia (C / Obispo Gandásegui, nº 7), at 19: 00h and with free admission.
On Saturday we return to the Cathedral, where we can enjoy the concert that truly pays tribute to Francisco Correa de Arauxo within our festival, with the performance of the titular organist of the Cathedral of Valencia and Professor of Clave of the Superior Conservatory of Music of Valencia, Pablo Márquez. He will offer us a program with a musical panorama of three authors: Sebastián Aguilera de Heredia, Francisco Correa de Arauxo and Joan B. Cabanilles. The concert will be at 20: 30h, with free admission also, in the SI Cathedral of Segovia.
This festival is organized by the Association "Correa de Arauxo", in collaboration with the SI Cathedral of Segovia, the Diocese of Segovia and the City Council of Segovia. In addition, this year is dedicated to the memory of Mr. Antonio Palenzuela, who was bishop of Segovia between 1970 and 1995, commemorating the centenary of his birth along with the events organized for this purpose.
