Reopening of the exhibition: “ALBERTO DURERO. MASTER OF RENAISSANCE ”

The sample is made up of a selection of 70 prints by the German artist Alberto Durero, from Italian private collections. Through them, an interesting tour of much of the production of this indisputable genius of engraving is offered, which elevated its different techniques to the category of work of art. Among the works on display are important masterpieces that gave the author unprecedented fame throughout Europe, including Renaissance Italy; such is the case of the "Fight between Hercules and Caco", "The Virgin and Child with the monkey", "The martyrdom of Saint Catherine", "Saint Eustace", the "Coat of arms with the skull", "The big horse ”,“ The Adoration of the Kings ”, the“ Portrait of Frederick the Wise ”, etc. Also present are two of his "Meisterstiche" ("absolute masterpieces"), "The Melancholy" and "The Knight, Death and the Devil", as well as the series dedicated to "The Life of the Virgin" and the so-called " Small passion on copper ”. Last but not least is the presence in the exhibition of the "Triumphal Chariot", a personal commission from Emperor Maximilian I.
