Jewish Cemetery of Segovia

Jewish Cemetery of Segovia

Leaving the old quarter of the Jewish quarter through the door of San Andrés, take a signposted path that, after crossing the valley of the Clamores stream through the place where the old bridge of La Estrella was, leads directly to the site of an old cemetery, identified as the ancient necropolis of the Jewish community of Segovia in medieval times.

The place has been partially studied, from the archaeological point of view, and it is possible to take a tour visiting examples of the two types of tombs that comprise it: large burial chambers carved into the rock, with an access corridor, and anthropomorphic tombs similarly carved in the limestone rock of the valley slopes.
