The City Council of Jaén has assumed the Presidency of the Network of Jewish Quarters of Spain. The mayor, Julio Millán, accompanied by the councilors of the Presidency and Culture, Africa Colomo and José Manuel Higueras, attended last Friday the 52ª assembly of the Network of Jewish Quarters of Spain, held in Hervás (Cáceres), whose mayor, Patricia Valle, has collected the witness of this Presidency for the next twelve months. “We have to strengthen the brand of the Red de Juderías in our city. This Presidency is an opportunity to strengthen the tourism sector in the capital, work for the recovery of our Jewish Quarter that needs it so much and must be an economic and social revulsion that also helps the development of our old town, ”said Julio Millán.
The mayor thanked the support of Jaén social groups that have encouraged the City Council to take the step in this new journey with the Presidency of the Jewish Quarter, especially the Iuventa Association, chaired by Rafael Cámara.
“It is news received with joy among the people of Jiennenses. We convey our congratulations to the City Council of Jaén for the efforts made, ”said Chamber. The members of the Network act jointly in defense of the historical heritage and Jewish legacy promoting cultural projects
