Coinciding with World Food Day, the prizes for the VIII Tapas-Peketapas and Cocktails Contest for Segovia were presented yesterday at the headquarters of the Segovian Hospitality Industrial Association. The gastronomic culture of the city and the province is very rich, so there are already several years in which this contest has been promoted in order for hoteliers to be able to create original, attractive and, above all, rich palate tapas to that the people who taste them will fall in love with the magical flavor they give off.
Such a good reception is such that this contest since since last 28 in September and until October 7, more than 14.000 rations have been sold among the different participating establishments.
The Duque and De Bote Restaurant in Bote were the great winners of this VIII Tapas-Peketapas and Cocktails Contest for Segovia by taking several awards, including the one of the popular Tapa and the Tapa of the Industrial Association of Hoteliers of Segovia.
The cover Don Alcachofo of the bar of Bote in Bote, was made with the awards to the Popular Cap, chosen by the public, and the Innovative Tapa. For its part, the Duke Restaurant with its creps glazed with teriyaki sauce stuffed with Iberian prey with vegetables and mango chutney, won the AIHS Tapa Prize, chosen by the professional jury, the Segovia Food Prize and the Dop Oil Special Prize Baena
In the rest of the awards that were given the Mahou Tapa went to Asador Hidalgo with his Codillo to the Segovia under boletus gratin. As the best cover of the province, he won the cheek roll with autumn fruits and oak. The second place of the special prize Dop Baena Oil went to the Restaurant La Codorniz for its Iberian sirloin to Pedro Ximénez, with garnish of apple and onion crunch. Finally, Peketapa was the potato nest with sausages, fried egg and breaded cheese. And the best accompaniment for all these tapas is a good cocktail, and the best was the Gastrobar Lali with its Mediterranean cocktail.
