The Director General of Tourism, Estrella Torrecilla, has participated in the commercial meeting held at the exhibition hall 'Lienzo Norte' in Ávila, focused on the promotion of tourism services in Castilla y León, with special emphasis on those who offer culture, Nature and gastronomy 37 tour operators -21 of them international- and more than 170 businessmen from the Community, who have been able to show their tourism products, participated in the commercial meeting.
Torrecilla has highlighted "the importance of this type of business meetings, within the tourism strategy of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, betting on tourism as a generator of business opportunities for companies and tourism entities in the Community." In this sense, Torrecilla has pointed out that the Ministry is working “on the approach of Castilla y León to international markets, with the aim of contributing decisively to the seasonality of the tourism market, rethinking foreign promotion and betting on emerging markets or barely explored ”, as in the case of China, Russia or Singapore, where 16 operators participating in the Avila commercial meeting come from. The director has influenced "the development of a novel and competitive offer in these destinations, combining the learning of Spanish with other tourist, cultural and sports services, attractive to potential tourists who are attracted to our language."
37 tour operators, national 16 and 21 operators from Russia, China, Singapore, Portugal and the United States participated in the commercial meeting held in Ávila. Among the more than 170 businessmen of the Community who have participated in the meeting, the participation of businessmen of tourist accommodation, visited wineries, tourist guides, restaurants, companies of active tourism or complementary tourist activities, among others. This type of work day or commercial meetings are aimed at betting on the specialization of tourism products and market segmentation, through mechanisms of institutional coordination and public-private collaboration, putting entrepreneurs in the Community in contact with National and international tour operators.
In addition to the commercial meeting, the Ministry has organized a familiarization trip, aimed at tour operators participating in the workday, with the aim of knowing the offer of the area and the different tourist products marketable by businessmen in the sector . In this way, and in collaboration with the City Council of Ávila and the Provincial Council of Ávila, through the quality brand 'Ávila Authentic', tourism professionals have already visited the city of Ávila to know their heritage resources, and in the The province is scheduled to visit the Bulls of Guisando, Castro de Ulaca and Finca La Garoza, to learn about the artistic work of Ibarrola. In addition, as part of the visit to the Sierra de Gredos Regional Park, the group of operators will visit Puerto del Pico and the Cinco Villas ravine.
