The Council of Ministers recalls the "unique" enclave of this municipality in the Sierra de Guadarrama
The Council of Ministers has approved a grant to the City Council of the Royal Site of San Ildefonso (Segovia) that is intended for mutual support in the field of sustainable development to the Autonomous National Parks Organization (OAPN), in the scope of their respective activities, since Most of the area of the municipality is owned by National Parks and this assistance is based on its unique situation in the Sierra de Guadarrama.
The Government recalled that being part of this space of protection accentuates the need for this assistance to the Royal Site of San Ildefonso, which is part of the set of actions carried out by both institutions. This aid is part of the Royal Decree of the Ministry of Ecological Transition regulating the direct granting of subsidies in the field of the environment, for the budget year 2019, worth 367.280 euros, for entities in their work to combat the Climate change and environmental protection, natural heritage and biodiversity.
In addition to the Segovian municipality, the institutions benefiting from these grants are: the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP); the Association of Municipalities with territory in National Parks (AMUPARNA), the Spanish Ornithology Society / BirdLIFE; Ecologists in Action, WWF-Adena and the Quebrantahuesos Foundation, for conservation actions Project Life + Red Quebrantahuesos. These grants will be applied against the budget items of the ministry itself.
