The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Javier Ortega Álvarez, has presented in Madrid the new promotional tourism campaign for Christmas, under the promotional motto 'This Christmas, look for what you are looking for, you will find it in Castilla y León'. The campaign has more than 130 tourist experiences to enjoy the tourist offer of the Community during this Christmas period, organized in five thematic blocks: Gourmet Christmas, Rural Christmas, Cultural and Urban Christmas, Nature and Active Christmas and Christmas Relax.
Ortega has highlighted "the importance of this tourist proposal for the winter months, worked with the business sector of the Community, which offers unique experiences, with specialized proposals to live a different Christmas in Castilla y León." This is a new promotional proposal, which covers a wide period, with a validity of three months, from November 26 to February 29, with the aim of positioning the destination Castilla y León for the next holiday bridges and Christmas holidays, through a combination of unique and adapted tourist proposals at this time of year. This campaign is adapted to the strategic lines established in the Regional Ministry, with three fundamental objectives: the revitalization of the rural environment of the Community, the seasonally adjusted tourism and the redistribution of tourist flows to the nine provinces of Castilla y León. Through this new promotional proposal, we focus on specific and specialized products such as the enogastronomic, rural and cultural offer for the Christmas period. Tourist products of great attraction and for a time of the year in which more and more leisure and tourism are consumed.
This promotional campaign seeks to strengthen the offer of food and wine tourism, as well as the offer of rural tourism and cultural tourism proposals in museums and exhibition centers in all the provinces of the Community. The promotional campaign will have a special impact on Madrid, the main issuing market for tourists to Castilla y León, which last year 2018 brought together 27,67% of travelers to the Community with more than 1,8 millions of Madrid tourists. In this way, the Ministry is committed to a promotional action with a strong visual impact on the main streets of the center of Madrid, with the presence of the promotional image in 50 digital marquees (Cibeles, Fuencarral, Goya, Plaza de la Independencia, Moncloa and Nuevos Ministerios ) and 71 kiosks (Gran Vía, Fuencarral, Ortega y Gasset, Serrano, Narváez, Velázquez, Castellana) to be developed from November 26 to December 8.
The promotional campaign will have a special impact on the online promotional channels, with an outstanding action through the website www.turismocastillayleon.com, which will gather all the information about the more than 130 Christmas tourist experiences, as well as its dissemination through of social media profiles: Facebook: Castilla y León is Vida, and Twitter and Instagram @CyLesVida, with more than 200.000 followers.
The presentation ceremony of the Christmas Campaign in Madrid, which has been conducted by the Valladolid company Valquiria Teatro, has had the participation of the Sorian chef Maria Luisa Banzo, of the restaurant 'La Cocina de María Luisa', which has promoted the truffle and mycology of Castilla y León as a unique resource in the Community, while it has placed the assistants to the II International Contest 'Cooking with Truffle', which is held in Soria the next days 2 and 3 in December. In addition, the wine tourism offer of the Community, with the prominence of the eight Certified Wine Routes, has been valued through the participation of the burgundy sommelier Pilar Cruces.

Castilla y León boasts leadership and specialization in its promotional Christmas campaign, through a wide range of rural tourism with more than 4.100 accommodation and 43 Posadas Reales, with its great wine and wine offer, which brings together the eight certified Wine Routes ( Arlanza, Arribes, Bierzo, Cigales, Ribera del Duero, Rueda, Sierra de Francia and Toro) as well as a rich pantry that has 69 quality figures in food products and an outstanding catering offer, in which 11 restaurants stand out with ' Michelin star '. To these tourist proposals is added the important cultural offer and activities of Christmas, such as living nativity scenes, concerts and exhibitions in the museum centers of the Community, thematic festivals and Festivals of Tourist Interest, betting on creating specialized tour packages , with the collaboration of the businessmen of the sector, through the more than 130 'Christmas Tourist Experiences'.
