The next Monday 9 of September the inauguration of the There is Segovia Festival, the main festival of literature and ideas in Spain, with a great popular party that will take place throughout the day for free. The day will start at eleven o'clock in the morning when the different exhibitions of visual arts curated for the festival will open and will be exhibited all September, such as Ricardo Cárdenas, Ricardo Martín, or the Fashion Film videoprojections of the British Council. In the afternoon the doors of the exhibition of Daniel Parra, Trafalgar in the Mint, will open and there will be numerous parallel activities such as educational workshops and debates both in the Segovia Public Library with personalities such as Manuel Jabois, Marta Williams or Charlotte Frasser -Prynne, as in the Municipal Library with Juan Fernández- Miranda or Lara Siscar, among others.
But also from 19,30 hours, art will go out to the street and the Plaza de San Martín will witness the pictorial intervention live and in front of the public of Alberto Reguera, with live music by Jorge Nava, as well as the meeting Poets in the Plaza de San Martín, a new initiative where you can enjoy public reading of poems by the hand of the National Prize for Young Poetry 2017, Ángela Segovia, and the Loewe Prize for Poetry, Antonio Lucas.
During the whole day the entrance to all the activities will be free and in addition, to celebrate this XIV edition to all those who attend the different events scheduled on September 9 in the different points of the city, they will be given a number with the They will enter the raffle for a pack of tickets that they can enjoy during the festival. The raffle will be held in the Plaza de San Martín starting at 21 hours.
In addition, various activities prior to official programming will be held. On Saturday, September 14, Andreas Prittwitz, Antonio Romero and Ramiro Morales will be the architects of a baroque concert in the Plaza Mayor of Pedraza. And the September 18, writer and actress Suzy Amis Cameron and actor Juan Diego Botto will discuss the care of the planet.
On the other hand, the September 20 Visual Arts will be present again with the inauguration in the Huerta de Félix Ortiz, by Ricardo Cárdenas enlivened by the Reina Sofía School of Music, and by the exhibition of the Aleia Roses Crown with roses from Castilla and Leon and seeds of the Kingdom of the Netherlands exposed in the Palace of Quintanar with more than 2.000 roses. That day there will be workshops and meetings with great personalities from the world of culture throughout the day and will culminate with the Voces meeting in the Plaza de San Martín. It will be the kick-off of the festival that will transform the city of Segovia until the next 22 in September.
In this XIV edition, and with the motto 'Open Squares, Open Minds', the Hay Festival of Segovia will have the presence of great thinkers, writers, philosophers and national and international artists such as Antonio Muñoz Molina, María Dueñas, Carmen Posadas, Reyes Monforte, Domingo Villar, Manuel Jabois, Soledad Puértolas, and the latest references by Elia Barceló, Elísabet Benavent or Javier Castillo, among others.
