MONASTERY OF SANTA MARÍA LA REAL DE NIEVA
Regio Dominican Monastery founded by Queen Catherine of Lancaster, grandmother of Isabella the Catholic. It is his cloister, built between the 1395 and 1437, 87 capitals follow each other natural everyday scenes, as well as others concerning good and evil, dyed even in a Romanesque spirit. In the monastic church dedicated to the Virgin of the Soterraña, we admire before entering its superb flamboyant Gothic front and inside, a delicate decorated alfarje of the s. XV, installed in the sotocoro; in the Main Chapel, rests in a sober mausoleum the remains of Queen Blanca de Navarra, first wife of Juan II of Aragon, who died in this village when he returned from a pilgrimage to Guadalupe.
