Located in Moral de Hornuez, the Shrine of Ntra. Sra. De Hornuez, initially was a hermitage and underwent successive transformations, until reaching the considerable dimensions of today's building.
It is tradition that the image of the Virgin appeared among the branches of a juniper, a tree that has always been linked to successive temples. A fire, in 1913, destroyed much of the temple, as well as the image and part of the juniper; Popular devotion prompted the rapid restoration of the building and a second image resembling the primitive was commissioned; The surviving branches of the juniper, which are preserved in the altar where the sacred image is venerated, were also adequately treated.
